    Be a part of the Academic Pentathlon

    Compete as a team against other schools in five different subject categories

    The theme for 2015–2016 will be India. Following is some general information on the topics in each of the subject areas.

    LITERATURE: The literature curriculum will include critical reading, one long work of literature, and selected shorter works. The long work of literature will be the novel Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya.

    MATHEMATICS: The mathematics curriculum will cover permutations and combinations, algebra, and statistics.

    ART: The art curriculum will include a section on art fundamentals and will largely focus on the art and architecture of India.

    SCIENCE: The science topic will be an introduction to ecology and will include case studies and examples relevant to India.

    SOCIAL SCIENCE: The social science curriculum will cover the history of modern India.

      FMS is once again participating in the Box Top for Education Fundraising Program. This is a great way to raise funds for various programs around FMS. Help FMS reach our goal of $5,000.00. It's as easy as... Buy...Clip...Send to school with your child to drop off in homeroom.  Just look for this label.

    • Independent Study Information
      Independent Study should be requested by a parent or guardian when a student will be absent for a period AT LEAST FIVE SCHOOL DAYS and not more than FIFTEEN. Requests for Independent Study must be made at least five school days prior to the first day of the absence from school.  An Independent Study contract must be signed and work must be picked up before the first day of the Independent Study.  The student must turn completed work in on the day he/she returns as this is NOT late or make-up work.
